Before you purchase your plane you should not only have a pre-purchase inspection but a pre-purchase flight inspection. As a prospective owner it is essential to know your aircraft is going to fly safely and to factory specifications. Our professionals will give their expert opinion on the plane you have your eye on, as well as provide a professional after-action report for use in price negotiations.

When buying an aircraft, safety and ease of ownership are at the forefront of your decision. Evolution Aviators can assist in the decision making process by utilizing our aircraft specific knowledge and a pre-purchase flight inspection to determine if the aircraft your buying is worthy of the price you’re paying.

The pre-purchase evaluation flight is designed and performed by Professional Test Pilots who have intimate knowledge of the platform you’re considering. They are also receiving continuous updates on fleet-wide trends and solutions, so if there is a problem, you can bet they will find it and give you a educated opinion.

At the conclusion you will be provided with a detailed After- Action Report noting all anomalies, with pictures included. This report can be used in price negotiations.

  • Light Jet Example: PDF

The pre-purchase flight evaluation will cover but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring aircraft security from ground and flight aspect.
  • Logbooks are inspected and assured complete currency.
  • Flight inspection designed by professional production test pilots.
  • Aircraft is flown through entire flight profile to ensure performance is as advertised.
  • Aircraft Performance Validation

Compare your aircraft's performance to book values. Performance evaluations are conducted in the climb, cruise, descent and landing.

Aircraft Systems Evaluations

Engine
We’ll verify proper engine set-up for piston aircraft; additional tests are completed for turbine aircraft, such as Bodes and Slams.

Flight Controls
We’ll check for proper flight control operation and control smoothness. Primary and Secondary Flight Controls are checked throughout the flight envelope, at low speed and at they’re maximum allowable operating airspeed.

Landing Gear & Brakes
Landing Gear is operated at its maximum operating airspeed. Handling qualities with the landing gear in the down position are evaluated. On some aircraft, emergency landing gear extension evaluations are performed. The hydraulic system is evaluated throughout flight. A maximum effort braking event will be performed.

Electrical
Engine(s) are started without the use of ground power equipment. Aircraft electrical components are evaluated before, during and after flight. Failure modes are evaluated.

Climate Control
The aircrafts climate control system is evaluated on cabin air distribution, air output and temperature.

Pressurization and Oxygen System
Cabin Pressurization is evaluated in normal and abnormal modes, including single source operations and smoke clearing scenarios. We’ll also evaluate the cabin pressurization schedule to ensure the cabin altitude is where it needs to be.

If applicable the oxygen system will be tested for proper function.

Avionics
All navigation capabilities will be evaluated; all autopilot modes will be evaluated. Radios and Transponders are evaluated with the help of Air Traffic Control.

Aircraft Handling Analysis
Aircraft of the same make and model can have slightly different flying characteristics, especially composite aircraft. We’ll evaluate the flying qualities of the aircraft throughout the flight envelope, including stalls (stick pusher) and Vmo/Mmo/Vne dives.

Ice Protection
Whether the aircraft has electric, TKS, or pneumatic ice protection systems, Evolution will ensure proper operation of all components.

Fuel System
Evolution will evaluate proper boost pump, start pump and motive pump operation. Failure modes will be evaluated. Fuel gauging and transfer systems will be checked for proper operation.

Others
Any other aircraft specific systems will be evaluated for proper operation and performance.

Detailed Interior and Exterior Cosmetic & Fit and Finish Inspection
New aircraft should have an unblemished paint finish. The interior should be free of damage, dirt, wear, etc… Used aircraft may have wear and tear cosmetic damage, but anything that isn’t considered wear and tear is noted. Any blemishes will be noted with photographic evidence.
